Steinholtz German Shepherd Dogs

The goal is to produce top dogs with outstanding temperment, proper conformation and above average intelligence.  Puppies are raised in the house with emphasis on mental stimulation right from birth.  Interaction with the mother, other adult dogs and people for starters.  Socialization starts early with traveling to different places as a litter with mom to met people and other animals.  The puppies are confident and fearless in all situations.  This is essential to make a great family companion or working dog.

The puppies are Puppy Aptitude Tested (PAT) at 49 days to help determine which type of home they should be placed in.  This test provides information that is difficult to see when the puppies play and interact as a group.  We thank Tom Marsteller from Gasport, NY for providing us this valuable piece to the puppy puzzle.  Information on this test and other stages of puppy developement is in one of the books we recommend.  "How to raise a puppy you can live with."   This book can be purchased on amazon.com

Lisa Wills and her beautiful puppy Ivy obtained her Rally Novice title at the Nickel City Cluster January 2009!!!  Ivy is just 9 months old!!!  Congratulations go out to both of them on their great work.  Lisa will continue with Ivy in obedience, herding and tracking. 

October 17th 2009.  Ivy and Lisa have been quite busy this summer.  Lisa and Ivy now have their Rally Advanced (RA), Companion Dog (CD), and Herding test (HT) titles!!!  She is working toward her RE and also more obedience, herding and tracking titles.  I am quite proud of them and would like to congratulate them on all their hard work in getting all those titles!!!
