Always ask your perspective breeder for references.  Ask to interact with the parents, get copies of the parents hip/elbow certifications, Degenerative myleopathy DNA testing and CERF exams. Please go with your gut feeling.  Don't support backyard breeders or puppy mills.  A reliable breeder cares about their puppies and will not let one go without asking the new owner questions about their lifestyle etc.  Do not let the future of this great breed be determined by thoughtless breeding.
